Gennaro Chiarello... Doesn't get more Sicilian than that. Was always a fan of Pat & Joe's when I lived on the Rock.
There has been a friendly rivalry between Gennaro's and Joe and Pat's for ages. Everyone has their favorite! *LOL*
Mark my words, just like Saint Joseph's Villa (suspected) the Gennaro's are likely going to sell that property for major money. If it isn't zoned for strictly commercial there will be townhouses on that lot before you know it.

Growing up blocks away, Gennaro’s was never my favorite. They make amazing zeppoles though.
Agreed. The pie is a bit salty and you have to ask to have the crust extra crispy. The initial building design (pizza clown) and location were what helped make it a SI landmark. That said, hope he enjoys retirement and the dreaded townhouses don’t show up there, or another cvs/Walgreens/bank.
When Party Time was their dorect competitor, it was my choice every time. That would be like late 80’s to like ‘92 or so. Later on, I’d have chosen Napoli’s over Gennaro’s.

I dunno, their Yelp reviews (which can make or kill a business these days) are all over the place.
