Any cheap and ok motel near LaGuardia Airport? (Newark, Wells: hotels, living)

In NYC there is no such thing as cheap. Even motels are costly, esp by the airport.

Check yelp.com and ignore any reviews that look obviously fake. I usually ignore reviews where the reviewer has fewer than 5 entries on the site.

The motel does not have to be in NYC, its vicinity would do, driving 60 to 90 minutes or even longer would be ok.

You want to look at hotels along Queens Blvd. They are usually less expensive.

@kapikap, thanks for the info, I'm not familiar with NYC, judging from the map, LaGuardia Airport is to its north in general.

Where are you coming from? What time does your plane leave? If you're driving from west of NYC, Newark Airport is much more convenient.


There are some pretty inexpensive (<$100) motels along I-80 in and around Parsippany, NJ. But you've got to allow at least 2 hours to get to LaGuardia and park from that location depending on time of day.


If you're coming from north or east of NYC, inexpensive (<$175) are hard to find.

Thank you all for your input. @Wells5, I'm actually driving from Georgia to pick up a relative who's coming to visit me, oddly his plane will land at LaGuardia Airport.
