Seriously and in my honest opinion, Bedford park is the area that is declining the quickest now. It already has some nice/bad blocks. The influx of low income Dominicans to the area has really affected it. Also bordering Fordham-Bedford doesn't help. Norwood has a better chance to be saved, cause Bedford park is about done. Its still not as bad other parts of the Bronx but its in a free fall.
I have a crime map of the 52nd precinct....and you can clearly see that Bedford park hangs with Uni Heights and Fordham-Bedford in terms of crimes commited. Ask if you want to see.
The local precinct has crime rate similar to Morris Heights and Highbridge for example.

I would take SuperWario's post with a HUGE grain of salt, as he is overly negative about the Bronx in general, and tries his best to keep white people out. Scary stories about attacks one white people that do not happen is his specialty...and he enjoys spewing crime statistics, but does not mention that the vast majority of the perps/victims are all involved in the drug trade...everyone else lives there lives reasonably well in an area like Bedford Park...which is why it is termed "under the radar."
Please review his prior posts for more info.

OP I would take Guywithacause's post with an even bigger grain of salt...he's usually blind to any negative affecting an area. Feel free to look at his prior posts....

I did a photo thread of Bedford Park. It looks like a fine working class neighborhood. It did not look too ghetto or scary to me. It is sort of a mix crowd. I saw whites, blacks, hispanics, and even some asians walking around like there is nothing bad going on. There is not much of a nightlife, I believe, and maybe some bad elements hang out in a corner at night somewhere.

It doesn't look bad. But dont judge a book by its cover. Its not an awful neighborhood either. Personally, I dont dont feel uncomfortable there. But especially at night, alot of the dealers come out, alot of loiterers. The neighborhood is basically a mixture of good and bad blocks....just depends where you are.
But its CLEARLY heading down.

It is a stable working class neighborhood indeed, and diverse to boot. I suggest people going to the area, rather than take the advise of someone like SuperWario who works hard at providing all kinds of scary stories with the sole intention of keeping "the man" (as in white people) out...to him they are "interference." Please disregard his posts as an overly negative poster who spends his free time with Dominican drug dealers until 4am...and prefers that life remain that way.
Please see his prior posts for further info. If anyone would actually like to see the area, I would be happy to take them there and show how all of SuperWario's negative posts, negative stats, and scary stories do not apply to anyone that does not hang out with the criminal element (Dominican drug dealers and gang members)...and life is actually decent in this community...

My daughter teaches in the neighborhood, just south of Bedford Park Boulevard on Webster Avenue. She has walked every day from the train to the school, approximately four blocks and has NEVER had a problem in seven years. She has also had to be in the area at night for parent teacher conferences, special events and some days when the workload required her to stay late. Again, NEVER a problem.

Its not a bad neighborhood. The northern end of the Grand Concourse is where you'll see tons of upscale art deco apartment buildings that were built way back when. Most of them are in pretty good shape, but a lot of those buildings have graffiti on them.
I don't know how comfortable I'd feel living there as a white guy, but for a Bronx neighborhood which is 90%+ Black/Hispanic I'd say Bedford Park is one of the better ones (up there with Kingsbridge and Parkchester).
