I saw partial construction of this - the commute (A train) and the fact that you have to drive everywhere for even the basics killed it for me.

The article states "commuting to NY is a breeze." Is that an intended pun?

Don't worry about the commute; you won't be going anywhere when the next hurricane comes.

I haven't been to Averne in years, but last time I was there, it was very ghetto

Default The Tides

Why would anyone freeze while waiting for the A train at Beach 67? There is a large waiting room and an alarm goes off when the train is arriving.

There are restaurants - Claudette's, Broadway Pizza, Batesy's, and Thai Kitchen By The Sea, directly on the street - as well as a Subway, Dunkin Donuts, and Local's Coffee shop. Also 2 banks. And a huge Stop and Shop a block away. And - there is an excellent wine shop - Vino's at the base of the building. A brand new YMCA is a short walk away.

The best part -- you are within feet of the OCEAN.

So many people DREAM about living near the ocean.

I live in The Dunes at Arverne By The Sea (ABTS). We have a fantastic, cohesive community and love our extended neighborhood. In addition to The Tides there are many homes in the different sections of ABTS that have rental units. The home apartments are generally larger and more affordable.
You can actually live at the beach, pick up your coffee, stroll to the subway, and be in Manhattan in about an hour.

My 2 cents.
