LES, the Lincoln Square area. And the west side area heading downtown. As a pedestrian you can be fine and then all of a sudden it's "whoa, whoa..." esp. at night. The daytime is alright.

Add 9th and 10th in Chelsea from 23rd south to 14th....
You pass London Terrace and think "hey this is nice", then *BAMM* something snaps you back down to reality. Closer you get to 14th more frequent it becomes IMHO.
