That's a large area to have to detour around, they should probably restrict it to just a couple of roads to get to the other side and ban them everywhere else. Forcing everyone to drive around it is just going to increase traffic around the sides of it.

Well the crosstowns are still open, 79th 65th, 86th etc.

They should just allow it during rush hours. 8am to 10 am and 5pm to 7pm.
