There are so many who disdain others as "failures" - I thought this was a nice story to remind us that sometimes people can be helped to get back on track. No pun intended.

From Subway Menace to Graduate Student
Carl Beamon made headlines for trying to push people onto subway tracks. He now has his own apartment and is one test away from a graduate degree.

People can hate on me but I still would run the other way if I saw him on the street. One slip of his meds is all it takes for the evil to come back.

I have to agree. I would not want this dude living in my apartment building. Anything can set this dude off.

How did he get paroled so soon?? He tried to kill 3 people!!!

"In 2001, he tried to push three people onto subway tracks. He went to prison for attempted murder and was paroled in 2007."

One of the reasons why i don't drink alcohol, beer and illegal narcotics. Losing control of yourself! It looks like drugs where the downfall of this guy as he started doing it in college and then it was a downward spiral for him.

Scumbag should be either locked up forever or thrown on the tracks to get a taste of his own medicine. Sick bastard shouldn't be roaming the streets.

Crazy on the amount of time this guy got for trying to kill 3 people. I guess NYS was low on prison cells or didn't want that type of craziness.

Agree with all of the above! I don't know what type of mental illness it takes to push people onto the tracks! Having a graduate degree means nothing!

lol! That is the truth. I, at least wouldn't want him to be behind me when I'm on the subway platform.

I agree as well. If he simply held up a few people for thier wallets I could feel different. But trying to push unsuspecting people to a grisly death is a different story. What will it take to set him off again? Could be very little.

You'd still run the other way? If he was nicely dressed in a suit, walking along minding his own business like everyone else?
