Less people are getting shot simply because of gentrification. The neighborhoods of today especially in Brooklyn are what they are due to Bloomberg and Giuliani jumpstarting development and tough stance on crime.

Now when you have 3 people getting shot (2 innocent bystanders) at 1pm in a busy gentrified corridor downtown Brooklyn in front of a GAP store, that’s alarming.

Deblasio isn’t making it better, crime was going down due to development. Now we are entering a slow down, less of a developmental boom. Crime will start up ticking again, mark my words there will be increases going forward rather than the progress that should be continuing
In order for the property prices to go down the crime must go up

Cant have it both ways.

Prices won’t go down unless their is another recession even then the people who are able to take advantage of that are investors.

People aren’t going to sell their properties for a lost in the under million dollar market range.

I don't even think it's quite as clear cut anymore. As long as it's mostly gang shootings/stabbings many of the gentry class probably will shrug it off. The world has changed and it's not like these young kids are scared at the sight of rough looking people.
