But the answer to the question is...I BELIEVE if you come on the job as provisional, you do not have to go through another investigation once you become probationary. You're pretty much under investigation during your first two years. If something comes up....you're called to explain it. But they get all of the big stuff out of the way before you start the academy.

I believe there is a class going in soon because they are doing alot of promotions. If you havent received anything yet, they probably arent up to you yet. call DCAS and see what list number they are up to.

Oh my god. This is so infuriating. How can they ask for a specific score (which I had) then tell me that they were booked to capacity and now I could possibly be skipped...whew, didnít think this would be such a process. Also which dcas number do we call ? Because the one I had only has a proctor

Back in August after going to the initial interviews because I scored an 85 and above and didnít hear anything back from them ... i Constanly called and E-mailed the phone number/information that was sent out in the E-mail. Ms. Maloney did call me back a few weeks later and said that Due to the turnout I would be in next years class .

According to this thread , the class could possibly be starting in January / letters being sent out the end of this year and Iíve yet to receive either

@Johnjaygrad: I was informed by the Civilian Hiring Unit that the Candidates List for this exam would come out at the end of the year and that the next class would be filled by that very list.

Also, most of those with 100s and 95s have already been called up as provisional and when we are called up to interview, we would be going in as permanents.

Keep the hope alive, @Johnjaygrad.

Good morning. When I called the automated # for DCAS it stated that we'd be notified at least 10 days before and that the list has not be published. Based on that information I don't think the classes will be starting in the beginning of January.

Manny, I called the hiring unit on Monday and the person that answered didn't know anything about a new PAA class coming in and just stayed that the listed hasn't been published yet.

Calm down. The score doesnt have anything to do with NYPD's capacity. Your score doesn't matter, your LIST number matters. If they didnt call you yet, they could still be working off of an earlier list. Yes, there is a possibility that someone can be skipped...its apart of civil service law called the one in three rule.

If you're frustrated now...I don't know how you're going to survive processing and the academy..lol. Start gathering your documents so when nypd calls, you have everything. Dig out your high school diploma, order your transcripts from every college you've attended, go to the social security office and get an earnings statement. Once you have that....get some paper and write down every job you've had and identify employment gaps and be able to explain that. did someone support you? get a notarized letter from them stating they supported you. did you do volunteer work? write it down.

thats the stuff you should be focused on.

As a civil servant for 10 years who has been thru the process a few times, all I can say is dont count on a job from being on any list. It's a long process and there's no guarantee of any job at the end of the day. It's best that you are already working when you are waiting to be plucked and interviewed from these lists. It will definitely test your patience
