Pros: It is a luxury building in Midtown Manhattan on the 39th Floor. Floor to ceiling windows. Two bedroom (which is really a three bedroom because there is yet another room, aside from the master bedroom and the second bedroom, that they call a library/study that can be used as a third bedroom). The person that showed me the apartment even called it a three bedroom, even though that third "bedroom" doesn't have a closet so I guess that officially makes it a two bedroom apartment. Two full bathrooms (one with a tub and a shower and the other with a tub). Breathtaking views from the apartment and from the 42nd Floor roof deck. I will be the first occupant in this apartment.

No cons that I can think of.

Whoever turned this down has to be insane.

Congrats! Glad it all worked out for you. How large is your family, that you won a 3 bedroom out of curiosity?
BTW many new construction buildings don't have closets in the actual bedroom. So thats not unheard of.

You're right, Needs. That story sounds odd. The appeal/view process just doesn't happen that fast, and no one caves on appeals. It's just not that fast. There was probably some other screw-up that the marketing agent didn't want to admit to. But glad it worked out. Please have a few drinks on all of us (well, figuratively at least).

Thanks all.

Yes the whole thing was odd but I didn’t press it because I didn’t care!

We are a family of four.

Default Log #?

NeedsAnApartment, congrats on the win! That sounds so exciting, can't wait to see the pictures!

*What Log #were you if you don't mind me asking?
*Did you have any type of CB preference?
*Was this for the 42 West 33rd Street Apt. building?

*I know of a few people waiting to hear back from that building after being interviewed. When you mentioned that all of the apts were filled, I lost hope for them. Did you mean just the 2 bedroom apts are filled? Hopefully there's still hope for the other sized apartments!

Thanks in advance for your feedback!

@NeedsAnApartment Congrats! I was reading your story and it sounded so unfair. Dealing with the affordable housing craziness can be so unorganized! Im glad things work out in the end and you kept a positive outlook. Im trying to stay positive. In one lottery so far did the interview, and now its just a waiting game. All the best!

But I can understand why someone might turn down that $2500 rental, even for big and new.
