I didn't realize there were many Cubans in the Bronx.
I thought most of the Cubans who moved here came to Florida.

Are the Cubans in the Bronx also mostly white, like many/most of the Cubans in Florida?

True enough.
For example, there are a lot of black Panamanians in NYC

Me too.
I get taken for both Russian, and Puerto Rican
(I'm Ashkenazi Jewish)

Yes, I have noticed this occasionally as well

New York doesn’t have a large noticeable Cuban population. Florida does.

Agreed, but there are definitely some in NJ. New York has some too, but they are mixed in with other Latinos. They don't have a neighborhood per se.

It’s almost never used. Even in Spanish. People would just say moreno or negro in Spanish. In English people would say biracial or mixed race.

Of course Russia has a lot of Jews. Lots of people of Spanish or Portuguese descent are part Jewish. Not sure it’s much of a mistake when as an Ashkenazi who share some common ancestry with those people. Even if it’s centuries back.

More to do with potential origin then actual usage.
