Homeless Man With 65 Prior Arrest Attack 3 Women On 59th St (New York: neighborhoods, dangerous)

UPPER WEST SIDE, Manhattan - A homeless man with 65 prior arrests is in custody after police say he randomly punched three women in the face in the subway Monday morning.

Authorities say 55-year-old Warren Harley attacked the three women -- ages 27, 52 and 63 -- inside the 59th Street-Columbus Circle station just after 10 a.m.

The victims were taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

A witnesses alerted a police officer to the suspect, who took him into custody.

Harley was taken to Bellevue Hospital for psychiatric evaluation.

Assault charges are pending.

Something tells me this guy isn't all there.

Not to sound harsh but at some point the city needs to acknowledge some bums are below mental capacity to ever lead an independent normal life.

He is dangerous and should be locked up before he pushes someone in front of a subway train.

I mean after 65 arrest you would think the judges and city would get that clue

But nope they just allow people like this to get back out and terrorize vulnerable New Yorkers

He obviously was mentally there enough to not punch big men who would beat him up and instead punched on women

No they won't get a clue. They'll just argue that we need to distribute the homeless problem to ALL neighborhoods, as if there aren't enough homeless deranged people walking around NYC as it is.

At what point do we start holding Judges accountable for letting these type of people out on the streets over and over again?
People always blame police but never judges...

Sometimes I wonder...
Where the line blurs between human rights and the impediment of one's human rights and the safety and the right's of others (society). There are so many people mental health problems (not sure that's the okay term to use) that they're aware of and those around them are aware of but there's so many more people who's mental health goes undetected until something happens. On one hand you can "lock" up (hospital) someone if they are deemed to be a danger to themselves and to others but you may be infringing on their rights. But we also know there are also people who can hide their illnesses from others, and very well at that. Million dollar question: How can we help those who may not want the help but society sees that they do need it without infringing on a person's rights? If all that makes sense..
