To anyone out there that has coop info on the Pelham Parkway section of the Bronx. The one I am considering is close to Pelham Parkway at 2199 Holland Ave (Astor Hall). Any info on that bldg. I Like the area and the close proximity to the subway.

Didn't you create a thread about this the other day? What is it that you want to know exactly?

Ditto. I lived at 1837 Holland which was fine. If you look at a crime map, this location is further north and not as safe but you need to check it out for yourself. It's your comfort level.

I've been in that area. There are some parts of Pelham Parkway that are fine, but I'm not necessarily a fan of that subway station. There are some characters that like to hang around it at times, so when I've gone up there, I've generally stuck with the BxM11 express bus. Not only that but the subways up there on weekends can be absolutely abysmal. The BxM11 doesn't make any stops until Pelham Parkway right by the Bronx Zoo, which is definitely a plus. The only thing is it only runs once per hour on Sundays, but Saturdays it runs every 30 minutes most of the day which is good.

Yup, my search is going to take me further north I'm afraid, but still on the Hudson River Line (cue Billy Joel) .

LMAO... Bluedog can speak more on Pelham Parkway since he lives there, but I've found from my experience that there are pockets that are fine and some that I find seedy and dirty. To me it's a bit too dense in parts and it can be gritty as a result. Pelham Parkway itself though is generally nice, especially going towards Indian Village (Morris Park). If I were the OP, I would consider something along Bronx Park East. Lots of green space, nice and quiet and the subway and express bus still aren't that far away. I wouldn't go too far south there either though. Looks kind of seedy the further south you go.
