Select soups at Columbus Circle are good like the black bean soup. I don't ever elect any sort of soup there with seafood because it will be overcooked and rubbery. The corn chowder is great when they have all of the ingredients.

There's good chicken soups in Chinatown where you can window shop and see their kitchens. The good ones have the chicken bone broth cooking in open view. From the windows you see the Chinese chefs in action and their whole kitchen setup is visible for deciding if it looks right.
