Anyone who doesn't pay market rate on an apartment they live in because of rent regulations should move.

Half of these "locals" are troublemaking scumbuckets who don't even have real jobs. Don't give me that hard working new yorker crap. Drug dealers, people living off the government. That's your "locals". Trust me, when "hipsters and yuppies" start driving rent up or whatever you want to say, it's a good thing, because it drives these criminals and waste of flesh people out of their neighborhoods and makes this sh**ty hoods more livable and safe. Neighborhoods that weren't even close to being safe 10 years ago can actually now be a place to hang out, watch the game, have a bite to eat, etc.
Rent is cheap in places that are unsafe and filled with people living off every government program you can imagine. Highest crime in these areas. Bring on the hipsters and yuppies. Yeah, they're annoying, but not as annoying as a drug dealer who threatens you, jumps you, robs you or kills you.

How?? A city of 8.2 million plus, 40 million annual tourist, 100K+ illegal immigrants, 100K+ working resident of CT, NJ, NYS, etc. A small minority group of people (hipster) does not make this city soft.

The irrational hatred of people needs to stop. Did you lose your job, girlfriend, wife, house, social life, etc to a hipster?? Or are you just a hater just to fit in?? I know it's popular to hate on hipsters, gays, and anyone else who is different.

You have to pick one of the lesser evils. With that said, I'd take hipsters and yuppies over unruly and problematic low income, ghetto people such as thugs, drug dealers, gang members, hoodrats and hustlers. It's these type of people that make NYC undesirable. It's these people who contribute to the crime rate and decay of a neighborhood. NYC is better without these trashy people. So yes...hipsters and yuppies over ghetto people ANY DAY!
