Default JFK - Close studios or efficiencies Cheap ?

I wouldn't mind living at the end of the runway. Any ideas on a neighborhood by a subway or the Airtrain. Not too pricey. I'm 6'4", 250 from Texas. Stayed at the YMCA in Jamaica years ago when I worked at Kennedy for a while. Quite a diverse neighborhood as was Jackson Heights, Roosevelt at 82nd. I don't mind diverse. I just need affordable and near transportation to JFK. Alway s thought the E train was cool... into Manhattan in 10 minutes... I'm thinking with the AirTrain I won't have to take the Q10 or was it the Q33 anymore. That always took almost an hour of my time. Any suggestions appreciated !

Have you looked in Hamilton Beach? Walk to the Howard Beach subway station & take the shuttle bus. Just wear your waders at really high tides.
