Yeah....its around there. Its located 155th in Harlem.....right by the river. The field of vision is 155th-159th and the Polo Grounds are three HUGEEEEEEEE projects. They look very majestic and awe-inspirng. Right next to it you have like 7 smaller housing projects.
Polo Grounds = King of the projects

There were a couple times in Morningside heights and the south Bronx where I had to walk through them to get to the school in order to get to the interview on time, and I never had a problem. A whole lot of 20-somethings with nothing better to do hanging around, but no one said anything to me (i'm 23/f, skinny and white, btw). I'm cautious though, of course. I try not to walk on the same side of them. It was just those 2 instances where I got lost trying to find the school and was rushing to make it in time.

GRANT HOUSES - WERE YOU GOING TO CITY COLLEGE, THIS COULD HAVE BEEN YOU!
A Columbia University graduate student from China was killed when he ran onto Broadway near the Morningside Heights campus in an attempt to evade two muggers, police said yesterday.
Minghui Yu, 24, a Columbia teaching fellow who was pursuing a doctorate in the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences, was walking south on Broadway from his girlfriend's apartment back to his own apartment just before 9 p.m. Friday when he was approached by two young men, police said.
Witnesses and surveillance video indicated that when the student reached the northeast corner of West 122nd Street, he crossed Broadway to the median and was in a violent struggle with at least one of the assailants, police said.
He broke free and ran west across Broadway's southbound lanes, where he was hit by a fast-moving sport utility vehicle. It knocked him more than a dozen yards, officials said. He was taken to the St. Luke's Division of St. Luke's-Roosevelt Hospital Center, where he died several hours later.
The two assailants, described as teenage males, fled east on West 122nd Street, passed through a housing complex, circled back on La Salle Street, and turned north on Broadway. Police said they are analyzing video of the attack in an attempt to identify the muggers.

*********UPDATE*******UPDATE***********UPDATE***** ********
April 6, 2008 -- A 13-year-old boy was charged last night with second-degree manslaughter in the death of a promising Columbia University grad student who ran in to traffic to escape a pair of punks who were harassing him. ****I'd safely bet that he was a resident of either Grant or Manhattanville projects which is the cities breding ground for criminals.
