Polo Grounds = King of the projects

The Polo Grounds are across from Rucker park. On one of the buildings inside the Polo Grounds is a plaque marking the spot of home plate. I believe its 2971 douglass, not positive. Enter at your own risk!

Well...they said 15. in the news. With backround I actually ment ethnicity. You said he is black but you don't have any proof. It really doesn't matter if he is black/white/asian or spanish or whatsoever... and oh yes I know a few people who don't live in the PJs and they would beat the **** outta you if they feel there is a reason too... so please don't always blame it on the PJs, the area or the ethnicity that some kids are out of their mind!

Yeah this is a sad situation and RIP to the guy. Vincent's comment is funny cause it's expressed out of frustration that everyone can relate to, hah. I always said if I was jumped by a group of punks and knew I was gonna take a beating, I would grab the shirt of the first dude that made physical contact and just concentrate on that one guy to make sure he got an equal or greater beat down as me.

Oh yeah and PJ's can certainly be intimidating especially if you're not used to the street culture. Add to that list shady Aves under EL trains like Jamaica Ave where it's all rusted and desolate at night, industrial areas, streets with old worn down victorian homes that look like nightmare on elm street like in southern Queens. At least there's not as many South Bronx scenes from the 80's, that was really the pits of hell on earth.

You should fear for your life in the PJs in Far Rockaway. That includes if you carry a handgun! All of them. Also Ocean Village, which is not a PJ per se, but full of the same clientele.

i take it you've been there before?

If they decide to tear down Yankee Stadium and make projects there it would be called Yankee Stadium. But I think they are making it into 3 little league fields.

Ebbets Field is not NYCHA.
