More fun at Manhattanville projects. Hey Q-dog the 90's are back ya-hoo!

April 16, 2008 -- An off-duty mailman shot two drug-addled neighbors in a Harlem housing project yesterday before killing himself in front of his parents as cops came to his door, authorities said.

Roberto Caballero, 48, fired a single bullet through Thomas Braxton's head and grazed Vincent Rolle's head before chasing Rolle up three flights of stairs and shooting him twice more in the chest, cops said.

When officers arrived at the Manhattanville Houses at 1430 Amsterdam Ave. at around 6 a.m., neighbors told them the man they were looking for lived in apartment 10E.

this WAS about drugs, read the story. he was fed up with his low life neighbors who were probably making his and other residents life miserable. to bad it ended the way it did but thats life in the projects 1990's AND 2008 style.

Back in the 90s the drug dealers would have killed the mailman

In 2008 the mail man murders the junkies

Same sh*t, different pile....

The projects were worse before but they're still pretty bad. Really bad actually.

Im close to both Grant and Manhantanville houses. I tought they were "good" projects.

grant and manhattanville are good, for harlem standards. i used to hang out there in the mid to late 90s. especially grant, i went to grant last year and hung outside at 1:30 in the morning in summertime, no problems. manhattanville's a little worse, but i consider them both tame.

The projects are still bad..but they are much better than they were...they used to be completely avoided due to the massive crime and drugs. But the city has taken a far more aggressive stance on residents, as well those that "trespass" on city property..so it has had a noticeable impact on the quality of life for those in the projects as well as the immediate community....at least from what I see/live.

to this kid diamondplayer.. i read the article quite well..thats why i stated why i stated its no comparison from that to the past i dont care what no weirdo on here says. ..i think if anything you didnt read or understood what i said..drug related-stick up kids, territory, drug -related snitching =the basics..not some dude tired of his neighbors getting high.like homeboy after you said..the slangers woulda killed the mailman.brothers killing junkies nowadays & you have the nerve to compare that to the early 90's? lol,cut the nonsense out man please.i come on here maybe twice a week & its always some new thread tryna hype up nycha..like its terrible..what hood yall weirdo's visit? please let me know= 85% of harlem housing is not some warzone like people on here try to hype up..bronx housing =95% of public housin fell off violence wise in 99-2000 (mott haven is not no warzone nor is it the wildest the part of the bronx to those tryna hype it up)..bronx backblocks is more deadlier nowadays then the jects.. brooklyn projects=probably the borough with the projects being more violent & there a dying breed..queens housing =no comment
