So, you're saying he has been required to decertify annually.

That's unusual these days, but I guess the specific program that his building was built under requires it.

Make sure the lease says that he has to decertify. I suspect that some landlords are just nosy and will ask for documents from tenants just to snoop on them.

But of course the lease will determine what's legal and what's not.

Your boyfriend should know exactly what the lease says. Unless he lives in NYCHA, he won't have to re-certify.

Poor ba$tard, he doesn't see it coming.


First the GF "moves in", then her name is added to lease, once that happens game is over. The GF then has "rights" and he can't get rid of her without a hassle and or even then.
