Was the expectation really some high brow discussion in this thread? This post was meant to be provacative. we have a lot of butt hurt posters but that's to be expected.

You guys want to know who really grinds me the most? It's the rent control folks living in apartments in desirable areas for like $300 per month. Those people (I am sure you are here) bug me...
The rich kids with parents helping are sort of obvious to spot, but the rent control people fly under the radar until they admit what their rents are and that whole "I'm a Real New Yorker" rent-control paying all your life, living on peanuts in New York City, acting like a baller, ball of wax...
That's not the worst thing about rent control. It's the scams that are pulled using RC.
I. Personally know a couple that makes 250k+ and the husband's mother lives in an RC unit (1BD) Off of Union Square. They've recently moved in to get his name on the lease so that he can take over the RC apt.
Also, her family has a 4 bedroom RC apt in Wash Heights that her younger brother has taken over. Her family owns a multi million dollar construction firm. In NJ (they've lived in NJ for close. To 2 decades now)
These aren't isolated incidenta either.
