This might shock some of you, but I have no idea what theses lotteries are. I own a home so I don't really pay attention to the dozens of threads about housing lotteries. These threads are often for the initiated. Can some explain the basics, please. One day I plan to sell my shack.

bxlover, my living situation is this: I rent a room with roommates and I have never applied for a housing lottery nor have I ever read any lottery topics.

However, housing lotteries appear to be what US citizens get into and people from other countries get to live in the luxury housing. That's what I gather.

Not much of a shocker so what's your big problem?

Look, since you own a house, you don’t even need to think about the housing lottery. Even if you sell your house, you will not qualify because you have money from the sale of the house.

lol yeah its more welfare for billionaire real estate developers. The affordable tenants are more of an annoying contractual obligation for these guys.... not that I’m complaining.
