If I was a bachelor and not a family man I would have been definitely living in 1020 GC
I don't know why. Extremely cramped elevators, common waiting area full of cobwebs from a lack of cleaning and dingy hallways. I guess it's a step up being in the South Bronx.

You know people that live there?

I've been there for business meetings numerous times and was not impressed. The building itself is very mixed and the people that lived there were nice, but I'd consider it a launching pad to something better. The guy I met with was involved with his own TV show and has since moved to Westchester. One night leaving there were cops swarming Grand Concourse because of a shooting and I got the hell out of there as fast as I could. 165th is sort of on the edge of the ghetto because the side streets are quite seedy, and above that on the Concourse north of 165th, it declines in terms of safety rapidly. If anything I'd go for something south of that by the park near 158th (on the Concourse). I'd stay off of the side streets for sure. There's one co-op there that looks ok. They can keep the rest of it.
The apartment itself was actually ok, looked nice overall and it was very quiet. I think bluedog mentioned it. 800 Grand Concourse I believe it is...

I've been in 800 GC - a long time ago.
Decent building, no "wow" factor to me, but nothing overly bad from what I could see
Forget about street parking around there

I've never been inside of that building but the outside looks ok. I didn't get the impression that it was spectacular by any means, but it looks like a quiet building that is upkept ok. Sort of for people who want civilized living. Saw some older folks coming out and then getting on the express bus to Manhattan. I think Executive Towers strives to be a luxury building, but the common areas are a bit dated and it's still the South Bronx.

Hahaha as someone who has just walked by here and there you think you know all about it.
As someone who actually lived in the neighborhood and been inside it I can tell you its not a quiet building and is rather hood. Many years ago in the 60's, early 70's it was a wonderful building and wonderful area. Then Bronx flight started. In the 80's a bunch of riff raff moved in and now its just generation after generations of crap tenants.

That's pretty much what 800 GC is.
