I'm not sure about "trailers" (i guess you mean the hitch type). UHaul should provide you with the regulations. But, when doing research, make use you check all 3)NYC DOT, NYS DOT & CT DOT for rules may differ per state highway.
OK, looks like getting to the apt we might come south into NYC on I-87/Major Deegan, then jog over and use either the Broadway Bridge/US 9; or the University Heights Bridge at W 207th
