Yes. They actually work.
There are the only one time usage. Pressing on one side of the plastic bag breaks an inner seal delivering
a steady warmth for a few hours then you dispose. Nice.

There are the ones that are gel filled bags. There is a clicker in the middle of the bag. Press until you hear it click.
The bag will begin to harden as warmth is released. Once totally hard you can use it as a weapon and bang someone over
the head with it if they bother you. L.O.L. Just kidding. Once harden, you take and place in a pot of boiling water until the
hardened material returns to a gel like consistency . Ready to use again. Very Nice.

For going outdoor Uniqlo heat tech knee high socks under lined leather boots. I have an old long winter coat that goes below my knees. (I need to replace it but it is hard to find something light weight & warm and that reaches enough below the knees at a good price these days!)

For sleeping at night I have silk comforter that I purchased in China together with a very light regular comforter on top.
