NYC usually gets about 2 snowstorms a year that dump a lot of snow and then usually nothing, or a few really negligible snow days.

The only snow has been in the fall. November 15th was the day of the snow debacle. The forecast says that there will be a significant winter storm next weekend. We’ll see how that goes.

Well, now they're saying temps will be too warm for snow. Expect a wintry mix instead.

As long as it happens while I'm off. It's a long weekend - then I won't leave my apt unless it's mandatory -otherwise will continue to watch "You" though it gives me the creeps big time.

So yeah it's you... We've been above average every year since the dud year in 2011.
Yes but after those big snowstorms it melts in a day or two. Seems like we don’t get prolonged snow cover anymore.

You're right, we don't.

Born and raised in NYC so can honestly say compared to the 1970's and 1980's no, we don't get that much snow at least what sticks around very long.

Fact we have pouring rain storms in January (like just last week) tells the tale; average temperatures overall aren't cold enough any long to support major snow storms. This and or what does fall melts rather quickly.

Haven't bought a new winter coat in ages. For years now can get buy with just a down vest and maybe a thick sweater. Often just a good warm shirt and maybe scarf along with DV is all required.

Meanwhile well remember back in the day NYC (in particular parts of SI and Brooklyn) had days if not weeks of temps well below 32F and or even near or less than zero.

Most snow days declared by mayor de Boob and even Bloomberg recently are jokes. In my day we went to school with such "light weight" snow, and no one thought a thing about it. Far as my parents and others were concerned, if school was open, we kids were going.

I’m happy there is no snow. Makes traveling so much more difficult.

It's as if the snow just misses nyc, mostly. The states south of the tristate state, usually gets hit hard.

I am looking forward to 70 degree winters.

Gotta get the bread and milk!
