It took about 5 or 6 weeks after the pool to begin. Lots of paper work and processing to follow after accepting offer. I started 5 yrs ago as a CA lll at DSS, currently a PAA ll at DOT.

I remember I took an exam to be a 911 dispatcher for the NYPD in late 1989. They didn't contact me until early 1992. By then, I already made plans to leave NYC for good.

If you want you can take your name off the list for a few months. That will have your list number bumped higher to the top. You’ll have a better chance. Remember you have three chances to not go to an interview. You can’t just pick and choose which pool to go to or you may get disqualified and put off the list. Did they reach you for an interview yet? In my opinion just keep going until you get hired. I know it’s frustrating but it will be worth it in the long run.

I got a notice too from the Dept. of Finance. I will be going tomorrow! Did anyone go to the one they had yesterday? I would love to know what to expect or what areas of Finance will be there. I just got a job with the city that I applied for three months ago but I still want to check out this hiring pool.
