Suffolk County is more fun than any non-NYC county in the tri-state area, hands down.

LI because I'm already familiar with the pitfalls and what to look out for in terms of taxes, LIRR costs, demographics and crime etc. NJ transit sucks, and I've heard Westchester is just too expensive and CT is too far and inconvenient.

I like taking my 4x4 to the outerbeach, my boat to Fire Island, sipping wine on the North Fork, taking strolls in the Hamptons, partying in Patchogue, taking the ferry out of Orient Point to Mystic for some chowder. Can only do that from Long Island. I invite y'all to my clambake this summer in the Mastics! Suffolk County all the way!

I enjoyed a visit to the "Village of Islip" and enjoyed their small town feel, however, I will forever be partial to the Hudson Valley. 100% LI has several "walkable" villages.
People just don't about them here, but Long Island has some great villages. Babylon, Bayshore, Islip, Sayville, Patchogue, Bellport...all lined up along Montauk Highway.

Depends. Where in Westchester and where on Long Island? They both have their hot spots.

I'm originally from Suffolk County and I wouldn't agree with this.
