Shawarma is a variation on the gyro. Like a gyro, the meat is grilled kebab-style (shawarma is Arabic for “turning”), but the shawarma’s meat is marinated for longer, and there’s a more diverse list of toppings. I tried shawarma at few place place in New York but unfortunately my experience was bad.
Could Someone recommend me the best place for shawarma.
Duzan on Steinway St in Astoria is probably the best. Karam on 4th Ave and 86th St in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn is also really good. Souk al Shater on Queens Blvd in Sunnyside also gets an honorable mention. I have yet to have a shwarma sandwich that can compete with these three places.

Steinway and what? Duzan is the name of the truck or server? Ive tried Yeahhh Baby in Astoria. Thanks.
That's King of Falafel & Shawarma. IMHO they have the best falafel in NYC although I've only been to the cart which is on 53rd and Park.
Their original place is in Astoria on Broadway.
