But everyone has heard of NYC.
you assume everyone will come to the US regardless

What a completely false narrative. NYC has been incorporating and giving opportunities to new immigrants and "ethnic" poor for centuries.
New opportunities = WORK, not handouts, just so we are clear.

Absolutely and to a fault that created dependence on government where people cannot fend for themselves

Same as why it's bad to feed wild animals

NYC is a sanctuary city and it is also the capital of the world. It has everything fashion, media, music, tv/film, finance, medicine, IT, etc. NYC will always attract people. But it doesn't mean people will stay forever or remain living in NYC.

NYC is facing is an unbalance housing issue, an antiquated infrastructure that can't handle the population, a disparity between the rich, middle class and poor in terms of housing, schools, services, etc, a growing homeless + mental ill population, ETC.

Similar to Los Angeles and San Francisco, NYC has a good amount of negatives.

I am shocked, SHOCKED that nobody except the Post is paying any attention to what's going on at City Hall. You would think that a reputable publication like the NY Times would be raising alarm bells by now at the ludicrous spending and waste. Are they just so consumed with their crusade to unseat Trump?
Answer to that question is YES.
TDS has consumed the media and the liberals -- they are going to continue to throw everything they can at Trump in hopes that something sticks. So far - nothing has. And if it keeps up, Trump's chances in 2020 get stronger.

NYC repeating the same problems created by Mayor Dinkins. Instead of being forward thinking and making the city high tech and business friendly. It's becoming backwards and less business friendly.

Recent De Blasio tweet trying to debunk this article-

New York City’s credit rating just increased for the first time in a decade. We saved $1 billion in February and are on track to save $750 million more in April. Jobs have reached a record high of 4.5 million.

Unlike @FoxNews, numbers don't lie.

Since De Blasio doesn’t lie and is so trustworthy.

It's not just about Amazon, a lot of businesses don't want to open shops here because of regulations, min wage, and cost of healthcare around here. Amazon is hiring 15k remote workers right now and you cannot reside in NJ or NY.

So said ancient Rome. No city can be so arrogant to thank that it cannot compete. Even London and they have been a major center for longer than most cities, clearly much longer than NY.
