Don't have much love for the MTA; but am with them on this one, whole situation is just too moist.
First of all the rat isn't "inside" that vending machine, but seen resting or water on the change return shelf. There isn't any way for a rat that size to have come out of the machine since the slots for dispensing cash or whatever are just too small.
This is a horrifying sight for me! I'm shuddering here in the comfort of my apartment just looking at that video. Thank GOD that was not me that had the experience of reaching down to get my change and a rat was inside the little window. I would have done anything to get away even jump onto the tracks!
Then Klassyhk's story would have been in the headlines "woman hit by the train while running from a rat - her last words were 'embracing a quickly moving subway train was much more comforting than being close to a NYC rat!' "
I just saw this video about rats sniffing out landmines and saving lives. It seems our NYC rats are underperforming. Are they just fat and lazy because there's too much food trash on the streets?
I think its real. No one in their right mind would pick up that diseased beast and place in there. Granted, there are many people in NYC not in their right mind, but even they probably have the sense enough not to take that risk. And I see many a rat hanging by those machines.
