It's really not. The Hudson is cleaner now than it ever has been. There is wildlife returning to the waters.

According to the post it appears people wont be able to swim there and the term "beach" is just subjective. Looks like it will be more like a pier than an actual sandy beach.......well unless the developers import white sand and build it up like a beach but blocking access to the water as no one in their right mind would want to swim in that cesspool.

It's cleanER than the absolutely disgusting state it was in 30 years ago. It's not CLEAN. Just less toxic.

And marine borers (a few different types of small marine life) eating the wooden piers. When the water was more polluted, they didn't survive. Now they are the cause of changes to waterfront engineering. Wooden pilings are all going to have to be replaced with steel.
