The cheapest apartments are sometimes the ones you find from walking around a neighborhood and talking to supers and looking at signs. So maybe try that.

I tried looking for apartments in Highbridge, Bronx on craigslist and there is only one single apartment listed. So obviously people who want apartments in that area must be finding them some other way.

People look inside Facebook and Instagram groups to find rooms usually. Gypsy Housing is mostly in gentrified areas so I would also do a Spanish language search for some other nabes. There is a group called apartments for rent that takes programs (sic). Craigslist currently caters to an older audience. The ones that are stuck on signs are super expensive from my experience.

Did you ask if the college has a Housing office that might be helpful?

The housing is the least of this guys worries but I can foresee that CUNY is probably not going to want an older male to be in a dorm with younger kids. Everything about CUNY is diverse and inclusive - which is equal to racist.

CUNY will profile everything about the guys bloodline and skin color but his mind and ideas, his skills and qualifications, will all be totally overlooked.

The financial aid department will not exactly be rolling their sleeves up to help unless he fits their diversity and inclusive BS.

CUNY is the most racist school in the world. It's not even a place for learning and enriching minds. CUNY is a social engineering business that has a storefront foundation that looks like a university school system.

"Diversity" and "Inclusive" are malignant and crude policies that are the exact same premise as racism.

A friend of mine stayed at a SUNY dorm and he was a 40 year old chain smoking cab driver at the time.

Roommate end of discussion. You could possible live on the campus. I know people who are living with ten people at a time.

I am back.Do not know how the 400/month got started.1000/ month and go.

Dorm is not available to me,yes age and work circumstances (I will be working as near as full time to swing things, but have flexible hours.

Curriculum is very demanding,so I wish to have as much privacy as I can possibly get,and its not as simple as opening a book any place I want,to study.

$1000 a month for a studio is simply not possible with a close commute to CCNY unless your relative owns the building, or you have time to wait out a lottery application. Thats the truth.

CUNY has homeless students. City College has a good quiet library and cafeteria and both are open for student and faculty only with ID's checked by security guards.

You should really consider that CUNY will not be in your corner unless you fit the profile of Affirmative Action, Equal Opportunity, and Gender Warriors.
