Opened today. But it's mainly for designers and people looking for a showroom, not really for actual normal IKEA shopping.

For accessories, probably a good idea. But for big items such as furniture especially a kitchen design. Go to Elizabeth NJ and the tax savings are well worth the trip. 3.5% vs 8.6% NYC Taxes.

Agreed - I've long done this....I tend to plan my purchases in advance (so I can skip the showroom and just pick up what I want from the warehouse). I can easily see my total and run the taxes on both scenarios. If the tax savings from going to NJ is greater than the cost of the tolls, then off to Elizabeth I go. I have to make an Ikea trip soon, but it's a small one. I'll go to Long Island, unless of course I can find the specific pieces I want on Craigslist - already put together and usually around half price.
