I still see lots of fireworks especially by the bay areas. NJ is completely legal so easy to buy.
Not true... Nj basically only legalized ground based fireworks.
With that said.. I missed the old days playing with fireworks as a teen. I was in Texas living in an area that wasn't all that populated.. So it wasn't a danger to anyone. I could understand the hesitation in more populated areas. M80s were loads of fun.
Do you agree that non-aerial fireworks should be legal at least?
It is inevitable that some kid, lets call him Bully, is going to throw a cherry bomb or a depth charge at another or off a building into a crowd below. Explosives should not be freely available, aerial or otherwise.
Pennsylvania is the closest place to get the good stuff. Interestingly, PA residents can't buy it for themselves (besides the wimpier stuff).
I remember reading that Giuliani sent cops to PA to catch New Yorkers buying fireworks for use in NYC. He virtually eliminated them but now there seems to be zero enforcement.

Yeah it seems like there's not much enforcement now. I was in Bushwick on the 4th and it felt like they were legal. I saw a lot of fireworks in Corona the same night, but Bushwick was going extra hard.
