pretty soon, he won't qualify for the third debate. Nobody really knows why Sam the Eagle Muppet keeps randomly showing up on MSNBC

I think it's hilarious that there's 10 people I've never heard of polling higher than him. Top 3 worst NYC mayors of all time.

I give Rudy Giuliani the Brass Balls Award for being right there at the Towers on that infamous day.
One of the best Mayors of my time. He loved N.Y. respected the men in blue and turned crime into
dust under his thumb.

They can take-off and probably should have down-time/off days just so they can be the best they can be for their constituents. But you should be reachable during a crisis in the same way that a doctor/nurse might take a nap during down time during a shift but when an emergency hits we expect them to be alert and ready to perform. I found it odd that DeB was away from the homestead eventhough 45 had signaled ICE raids and given our sanctuary city status you kinda would suspect NYC would be on the raid list.

Mayor B of south bend suspended his campaign when there was an issue that required his attention (the police shooting) and he is polling, fundraising, and doing way beter than DeB - but the fact he can take his current job seriously enough probably feeds into his favorable view by the presidential electorate.

How long until we find out that he's taking NYC taxpayer money to pay for all those hotels and restaurants and shopping sprees for Chirlane

NYPD already provides security for him, including airfare and food, since he is still technically the mayor. NYC taxpayers are probably paying $200k per day during his campaign. Remember that sweet NYPD $OT$ they are racking up in New Hampshire or Iowa or whenever.
Chirlane already has taxpayer's money funneled through her. He appointed her as the head of his non-profit who works "closely" with ThriveNYC (yeah, THAT ThriveNYC). She is getting a salary through a non-profit and probably corporate expenses paid.
