The Justice Department will not bring federal charges against a New York City police officer in the death of Eric Garner, ending a yearslong inquiry into a case that sharply divided officials and prompted national protests over excessive force by the police, according to three people briefed on the decision.

Good! This was a railroad of a cop because he is white. It is racial politics at its worst. It was not a choke hold. Eric Garner has no one to blame but himself. Arrested over 30 times in his life. He fought a group of cops. He was breathing after being cuffed. He was breathing in the ambulance. He died 1 1/2 hours later at the hospital. He was grossly overweight, had heart problems and he was diabetic. Eric Garner died from his numerous medical conditions and choice to fight cops.

The cop put their life on the line to keep the city safe, and Eric Garner didn’t comply with police, so I am not upset that the officer is not charged on federal level.

30 times and didn't grasp how to handle cops...LOL. The guy was an idiot who fathered 7 kids and had a newborn. Not sure how much money you make selling loose cigs to support 7 kids with 1 being a newborn.

The choking to death of Eric Garner for selling bootleg cigarettes one at a time was an exact but real reenactment of the white cops choking "radio Raheem" to death in the movie, "Do the Right Thing."

I thought it was more a reflection of how stupid our tax laws are, especially sin taxes.

The family got a $5.9 million settlement from this. Time to move on already.... Nothing is going to bring him back. Was what he did wrong? Yes... I think it would be quite difficult to argue that it was somehow intentional or premeditated. Just look at that little cop trying to take down that big guy.
