In the 90ís and early 2000ís everywhere you went they had ny1 running on the tv; businesses, homes etc.. they had great reporters and newscasters, now it seems nobody cares for them anymore, they have lost that magic what gives.

Same thing that happened to many other places; NY1 was acquired by someone else and changes began. Those changes resulted in staff leaving (of their own free will or otherwise), and other things that caused people to lose their taste for the station.

Popular reporters/shows like "The Call" got axed, so people less and less bothered.

Now that you mention it, they used to be on TV and now they're gone.

It would be a good idea to have a repeating/cycling news channel on broadcast TV, like WINS radio.

To be fair media is now cluttered with 24/7 news sites, and that didn't help NY1.

More to the point all of such sites such as Gothamist, Google, right on down to NYT, NYPost, and Daily News largely have the same GD stories up for days or even a week at a time. There is only so much "news" and new content, so previous stories stay up for ages it seems.

My guess they arenít front loop enough for nyc. Pat tried , bless his heart.
Still rather listen to them when I can. I rather watch their re runs from 2003 than whatever garbage news is playing today.

Not true. Plenty of good news there to be reported. But they chose not to cover it.
News networks are in business of confusing people, spreading bull**** all around. Don’t believe me? Ask yourself, what was the last time you heard the news that matter d to you.

Fios happened to NY1. Wife had it on every morning when we had Time Warner. Ny-1 is not available on Fios.
