has anybody gone through this inspection that precision pipeline has been conducting? Do they come in and mandate certain changes? We just moved into this home and I know they've had some improvements done in the past with gas lines added etc and not sure if they were added to the gas company records

I have Con Ed and Precision Pipeline came last month to inspect the gas meter and pipes for leaks and corrosion. It's a new regulation or law that requires inspections every three years. It had nothing to do with anything but safety. The inspector used a device to check for leaks and looked at the pipes for corrosion and was done in five minutes.

I just got this letter from Precision Pipeline for inspections that I imagined you got. Did you schedule the inspection with them to take a look at the meter? If so, can you describe what the actual inspection is?

I took a look at the website mentioned in the letter and they said that if they found any "issues" they won't charge provided the issue was caused "naturally". What does "naturally" mean? How else would a gas problem manifest itself?
