Andrew Cuomo
@NYGovCuomo

We've been through this situation w ConEd time & again & they should have been better prepared—period. I am deploying 200 State Police, 100 generators & 50 Light Towers to assist with the 30K+ power outages in BK.
I encourage NYers to check on neighbors- esp the elderly- tonight

33,000 out of 8 million. Pretty good ratio. **** fails in extreme heat. It's not a conspiracy.

Cuomo told Con Ed to cut the power off, knowing DeBlasio would be home

it was blacked out between 30th and 72nd street, because the empire state building was not lit that night

Honestly i couldn't imagine owning a house and not having an integrated generator that automatically comes on. Yeah there's a little up front investment, but the peace of mind is well worth it.

My block in Queens has been without power since yesterday afternoon. They keep moving the "restoration" time and it's infuriating. It's one block--how hard can it be to get the power back up again?!

I'm one of those "tin-foil hat" guys, but I completely agree.

Truth be told, I'm pleasantly surprised it isn't more. Even 80,000 out of 9 million is still less than 1%.
