I just don't understand how that isn't an assault on a police officer. It should be a felony on those losers record and I'm hoping the following investigation should bring some results.
Those 2 officers are pathetic and should be fired.
Felony assault would be if you suffered a serious physical injury, like if they threw the bucket at a regular civilian an the civilian suffered a fractured skull. Otherwise, for some redness or pain, it would be assault misdemeanor.
However, because the victim here is a police officer performing his lawful duties, everything gets ratcheted up. So for what would be equivalent to an assault misdemeanor (redness, pain, any physical injury etc) for a normal civilian, the charge would be assault felony in this circumstance. Furthermore, a regular felony assault would be assault on a police officer, etc
A person spitting at another person is considered aggravated harassment, no? A person throwing random water should also be the same.
No, aggravated harassment would be like if you use social media to continuously annoy someone, or if you call someone and don't say anything just to annoy them etc.
Spitting at someone would be regular harassment if i'm not mistaken. I'm going off the top of my head. If you slap someone in the face, or even punch someone in the face and leave no redness or pain, then it's also harassment. So it would make sense that having water thrown on you would just be harassment.
Obviously it was disrespectful and just plain wrong. But you really can't shoot somebody or put 'em in a chokehold for assault with cold water--even with a bucket. I think it's just more likely that the cops thought that arresting whoever they had for whatever reason was more important than retaliating. Probably a wise move on their part.
There were TWO separate incidents. In one case they weren't "arresting" anybody. They were walking AWAY back to their car when the thug runs up behind them and dumps a whole bucket of water on them after having doused them with water once. The cops should've put that guy in handcuffs and taught his @ss a lesson.
Not even going to the last post. It was a freaking heat wave! Cops were probably going to shut the pump off.
And shame on the people speaking of blood shed over water.
And some wonder why there is so much hate.
Total disrespect of cops. It's hot out so we should have people come to your office and dump buckets of water on your desk. I'm sure you'll think that's ok.

They should have curb stomped respect into those punks since their "families" obviously failed them.
