LOL I doubt someone would fake that! I was just wondering if it was on their official site because I couldn't find it. Good luck everyone!

It was in a newsletter sent to Penn South residents. Why we would need to know? I am not quite sure. Maybe they were hoping we would share with family and friends who were hopeful lottery applicants?

So the overall selection rate's going to be under 5% (can't tell by apartment size because the numbers aren't broken down). Whew.

Question: Do new residents to Penn South get to inspect the apartment they are offered prior to closing?

Yes. You get to see two apartments when they're ready to give you one. You can only turn one down. If you turn the second one down, you go to the back of the list.

However from what I gather after reading the 2014 thread you'll probably end up viewing many apartments (as in much more than 2) because they'll let you see them when your number is close to being called but there are still people ahead of you.

Basically, the idea is to take what you get and then ask for an internal transfer later on. Good luck! I hope we all become neighbors.

HPD received a total of 26,961 entries, online and by mail, for these three Penn South waiting lists. The lotteries will be conducted by HPD towards the end of August.

In September 2019 HPD will provide Management Office with lists of applicants who were randomly drawn in these lotteries. Later that month the Management Office will send applications to people who were drawn in the lotteries. Only applicants who are drawn in the lotteries will be notified.
Thanks for posting!

If anyone gets a number, please post. Not sure when one should conclude one didn't make the waiting list.
