I think the whole NYU Medical Center / Bellevue complex (which in a lot of ways is one big hospital) is it's own neighborhood. But it's NOT midtown.

This all got started talking about Midtown east though because someone called Bellevue midtown east, which its clearly Kips bay. I lived in all these areas. People can call them what they like, people who live there know where they live.
