Indeed it can be. But ..... does this means we lower standards. It means we raise the standards. If they have PTSD maybe they have to go out on Disabality and work in an other profession. Life is not perfect. Doctors, nurses, paramedics also have PTSD and have to give up their professions. Not being insensitive. But just because you become a cop does not mean you are guaranteed the job for Life. Bad cops undermine the public trust and engender anger that puts other cops at risk more then anything else.
