You donít put anyone in a illegal lethal chokehold when not only are they surrendering for arrest but are telling you they canít breathe. You also donít go after someone in such aggressive manner for simply selling cigarettes

the medical examination stated that he was killed due to the chokehold, there was no underlying COD

OíNeil needs to fire his ass immediately

Let today be a pivotal teaching moment to those who believe they can use their badge to hide behind the blue walls of the law
Makes me wonder what you would be like if you are the police officer put in this kind of situation, and getting spit by civilian or constantly talking to you with foul word.

another thing I noticed some of you do... intentionally thwart or derail the point of post or thread...

garner never spit on them. He should’ve never been killed.

there is no way in the world one can defend the conduct of the NYPD with this matter

they f**ed up and hopefully the family gets some sort of (gasp) justice

So much stupid in one post. He was literally not surrendering. He was RESISTING ARREST. That was the crime he was taken down for not the loosies. The loosies is why the cops were called there and then big Eric decided he wasn't going to be arrested that day. His own words.

The fact that he said I can't breathe means he was breathing. You can't talk if you can't breathe and fat boy was talking up a storm. There sure was underlying COD i guess you can't read? Go check the medical report.

Today is a pivotal moment where NYC has let it be known that the inmates run the asylum.

Why didn't he just obey police instructions? You know what they do to you in jail if you don't listen to instructions. They got batons.

One thing that some people never get it in their head is why resist and why run?

You have a better chance talking your way out of situation with the police then resisting. It should've never required force had he complied.

Unintentional consequence.

The only lesson here for cops is that you'll be fired for doing your job if the political winds demand it, BUT... union rules protect us much more strongly if we DON'T do our jobs, so...

On the bright side, the over time in regards to this incident starts again in 42 minutes. How crazy is that? We're actually BENEFITTING from the cop hatred. Gotta love it.

Solace in their loss? Eric Garner was a dead beat dad who spread his seed to multiple skanks. He was the epitome of a waste of space in a civilized society. Literally the only good thing he ever did was dying from being a fat bastard scoring his "family" an unwarranted money windfall while they continue to live off the tax payer dime in public housing.

Very well said!

Don’t be stupid and put yourself in a situation fighting with law enforcement where the outcome can cause you physical harm

Like the thief who gets beaten to within an inch of his life then complains i was only trying to steal someone’s belongings
