I wonder if it will save money in the long run because they will stop using the ER for routine problems. I am surprised though.

Nice, I pay a ton of taxes for the privilege to pay $420 a month for a plan that covers almost nothing... and the illegals can get their free HC and drivers Licenses now... seems fair.

Opinion:

Exerpt
There’s an estimated 600,000 uninsured New Yorkers.
100 million slated but good insurance is going to require 14.4 billion...dollars! Yeah. You heard it.
What the heck coverage are you expecting to get. Sounds like the mayor wants to show he's a
good Samaritan on paper The middle class working stiffs need to hang on to their wallet over the
next two decades. Your paychecks are gonna get hammered.

This will probably save money stopping the emergency ER visits and also having ER wait times less and hopefully have fewer people in the ER so Doctors and Nurses are not overworked. Hopefully send them to places students do there residency so they get all the practice they need.

But you know what would really help? Regulation of the cost of healthcare - It is a totally corrupt system. I have insurance and usually I don't pay attention to my bills because of my Co-pay but one I actually looked at and it was totally ridiculous the things they charged me for and the amount. I also believe every hospital and Doctor should have to have a published price list of services so people can make an informed decision when they do not have insurance.

I'd like to say no thank you to the $200 band-aid.
