if you were given the job to help make this city have a spotless look. What projects and laws would you implement?

I don't know exactly how it'd work, but just like the bottle deposit program became a cottage industry to itself, I'd find someway to pay for people to turn in bags of litter from off the street. Someone could go to a center, pick up a rolling trash cart and a broom+pal and get paid by amount of trash they haul in.....granted, I know what will really happen is people will take trash out of people's cans or street cans...I haven't figured out how to work around that.

No allow buildings and businesses to leave garbage on the street for, very long. Pickups would be tightly scheduled, garbage shouldn't be on the street for more than a half hour.

If the pickup is in the middle of the night, how would that be feasible?

Ensure that DSNY employees collects garbage bags that they see while driving even if it is not on their route. Assess hefty fines on people who illegally dump (to include liens on paychecks, bank accounts, property and tax returns).

I see DSNY truck leisurely drive by garbage multiple times and refused to pick it up.

I seriously hate the dumping I see all over church Ave and Flatbush Ave and even Fulton and Utica.

DSNY should bring in a fleet of trucks to pick up dumping trash up and down main roads every night at let say 11 pm.

They should also add more street sweepers or bring in folks doing community service.

Enforce the law on people who litter.

Yesterday in Bed Stuy I watched a girl throw her KFC cup on the floor even though she had 3 trash cans next to her. Smh!

Or maybe the city can put a giant bin structure every few blocks where people can dump their trash.

I think DSNY is one of the most efficient city agencies we have. Ppl are just dirty.

DSNY should talk to MTA and see how they could help them out, how about that
