I love watching these older NYC videos, especially the ones based in Queens. Even Flushing wasn't as insanely congested back then as it is now. I was only 5 when this was taken.

Also, I had no idea Kissena Blvd use to be 4 lanes.

Watch a video of Beijing in 1994 and then one today, and watch how all the Chinese people have been replaced by white people.

Of course I'm joking; we're a country that accepts immigrants from around the world (unlike China), and then are pummeled mercilessly because we're not "woke" enough.

I see plenty of Asians in the video, but it definitely was more diverse back then.

I am pretty sure you will still see mostly Chinese people in Beijing even today

As it should be. Homogenous sections of inner city is not diversity.

The start of Chinese real presence was 1990. 29 years later, it vaguely resembles what downtown flushing was .

Modells still stands!

Not growing enough. Skyview has a growing white american population though.

When Tangram, and Flushing Commons finish, I can imagine even more white people moving in.
