It’s sad that she’s politicized her position, a position she clearly can no longer properly function in. She should do the right thing and retire but she never will. Not to mention, either by her retirement or death, if Trump gets to replace her, there will likely be a civil war.
She along with every liberal was expecting a Hillary presidency. She knows resigning during Trump basically swings the court right for years, possibly decades.
You do his type of rumination from time to time. This type of apolyaptic thinking with neat categories of evil and virtuous. Nearly all leftist are evil and all your side is good. I suspect you believe this and wish you wouldn't. Not for me but for you. This type of thinking is wrong on so many levels and really robs you. But anyway... your call. I didn’t say all leftists were evil. Those who would cause bloodshed for any reason are evil though, on that point we should be in agreement. And since anyone causing bloodshed over an event such as Ginsburg’s death would clearly be leftists due to her political bent, my statement stands.
I'd seen the headlines, but hadn't realized that she chose to come to NYC. It's a nice reminder of how lucky we are to have very good medical options here.

Based on what she's said, I don't think it's true that she'd never retire. She said that she didn't retire while Obama was in office because she didn't think he would replace her with someone she'd be happy with (I'm paraphrasing, of course), which I assume means she thought the balance in Congress would shift.
Her cancer keeps coming back. At some point it's going to pop up somewhere where the can't beat it down. We'll see if she can outlive Trump's presidency.
She will. Elites (including key political appointees) have access to meds and treatments we can only dream of. They'll keep her going for as long as it takes.
Judges, politicians, federal, state, city, all municipal positions should retire by 75 years old.
Just like the physical body, the mental declines as well. I've seen it in numerous people I know.
Too many "senior moments" isn't funny when it comes to a position requiring top mental agility.
If they really want to continue working to fill their hours, the private sector is always there.
Trump has reportedly been interviewing candidates to replace her on the SC should she pass away during his presidency. Before you all start screaming this is standard procedure in unfortunate situations like this. I expect Trump would nominate another strict Constitutionalist.
Wake me up when the “crazed leftists” shoot up churches, synagogues or shopping malls. Haven’t seen any “crazed leftists” decorating their cars or homes with political propaganda. Was the “MAGABomber” a crazed leftist as well? What a sad world my children are growing up in. Sad!
