It's more of a widespread problem now but it's hardly new. In the old days we had people walking through the subway, up the stairs, and crossing streets while never looking away from their folded up Wall Street Journal.

I purposely blow right into people walking while looking at their cell. I don’t even direct myself toward them, I just keep walking as I was. Bam! I have obliterated at least 6 cell phones to date. They go flying into the street. The best is when they fall into a puddle. Had one go onto the tracks last week at 59th. I even had one guy walk right into me while I was just standing there. Saw him coming and he trips over my feet. Lol.

Look where the f you are going!

A couple of days ago I had to wait for a school crossing guard who was walking some adults across the street. The crossing guard was looking down at her phone the whole time she crossed the street.

You idiots are all walking around distracted on your phones and your headphones on oblivious to world around you and then you b*tch and complain about getting hit by vehicles and bikes? Please. Take your headphones off you morons and pay attention!
Should we also stay off your lawn?

Haha that's almost perfect. All you're missing is the video camera and a youtube channel

Drives me up the effin wall.

On street don't mind as much; just blow past those eegits, and or refuse to move so they walk right into me.

It is on the subway that they really get on my nerves.

Each time head for the "Q" there is one or more eegits on escalator blocking the "walking down or up" lane by staring at their phones. People now are blowing past them and some catch an attitude; eff em, they should be paying attention.

Worse are those who get off trains, walk up and down stairs, etc... all totally oblivious because they are so engrossed with their phones.

Have said this before, while cannot prove am sure the spike in people falling "into" a train or otherwise ending up on tracks in path of an oncoming train is because they aren't paying attention.

You can't get away from these eegits! When driving they walk out right into middle of street (against traffic) totally tuned out. One good blast of my horn shocks them into reality. There once again they often catch an attitude.

I’ve walked towards ppl distracted by their phones, recently I purposely pulled out my phone and walked straight into someone on their phone, what are they gonna tell me? “Watch where your going?”

Its cut throat out there with these gadgets, its disrespectful and plain stupidity.

The several times a year i take a train, I sit and count how many ppl are in the cart and how many are plugged into their phones. Usually theres at least one with a book that I admire.

Social society is dead, I love seeing old pics and videos of people walking through NY, everyone has their eyes up looking straight ahead.

Even recently at a bar two friends sat next to each other, showing the other one a meme they found on instagram, giggling and then going back to look for more, absolutely no conversation.

I can understand if it's a single person, hanging out at the bar and playing on their phone but when it's a couple or friends it just shows the breakdown of society. These people aren't doing work. They're checking their facebook, twitter or whatever social media outlet to discuss that they are at a bar. One of my idiot friends did this a few weeks ago when we went out for drinks/dinner and I called him out. I told him that we don't get a chance to hang out much and if he's more concerned about his social media nonsense then he can hang out by himself. He got the message.

These same clowns are the ones that go to concerts or events and spend most of their time videoing the event instead of actually watching it. What has this world come to? I feel bad for my kids.
